Severe Weather/Emergencies

There may be times that the weather prevents us from reaching your house to perform regularly scheduled pet sitting visits/ dog walks.  At Bark & Purr Pet Sitting, LLC we will take our cues for weather from government/school closings.   

If your regularly scheduled pet sitter is unable to make it to your home due to inclement weather, we may send a back-up pet sitter/ dog walker to complete service.  If we have to send a back-up pet sitter/ dog walker, we will notify you ahead of the visit to let you know about the change. 

Bark & Purr Pet Sitting LLC will make every reasonable effort to reach your home safely to provide service to your pet(s).  We will NOT put ourselves in danger to reach your pet(s).  When you fill out your new client information form, we ask for an emergency contact.  Please list someone as an emergency contact that has access to your home and that lives within walking distance.

A personal emergency could also prevent us from reaching your pet(s). For example, a car wreck could prevent us from getting to you. If your scheduled pet sitter/dog walker has a personal emergency we will work quickly to send a back-up pet sitter/dog walker.  In the event that we cannot send someone to your home, we will call your emergency contact and coordinate with them until we can resume services.  

If an emergency or inclement weather happens, we may have to alter previously scheduled visit/walk times in order to provide service to all of our clients.  We will make every effort to reach your pet(s) as close to their normally scheduled walk/visit as possible.  If weather conditions are dangerous, we may take your pet(s) for a potty break only and spend the rest of their visit indoors.  If the weather is severe, we may shorten visit/walk times in order to help us get to all animals in our care.  If we are forced to shorten a visit/walk, we will add additional time to the next regularly scheduled visit with your pet(s).
